About EDIfacts

EDIfacts is an iPhone application designed for EDI experts in order to have a quick view in structure or qualifier of EDIFACT messages. It supports all UN/EDIFACT messages since 1993(D93A) till today. So you have  the big runners like D96A, D97A, D00A, D07A within this package.

For every version you will find:

• All Messages with complete information, structure, hierachy, groups and segments
• All Segments with structure, Field length, loops and sequence
• A list of all qualifier
• On top you find all service segments and qualifier for all syntax version.

Idea:

I often have the situation, that I need to have a quick view for finding the explanation of a qualfier or to check in which group a segment is into.Sitting at the desk, I can use the webbrowser and surf to the UN/EDIFACT site , but most of the time my monitor is full of application windows, so I have to <tab> between the UN/EDIFACT directory and my application or guideline or notepad with the EDIFACT message. So I searched for an iPhone app and didn’t find any. That was the moment I dediced to create an own one and here it is.Meanwhile a had other situation e.g. a guideline meeting between two partners where a quick look in an iPhone App would have made the meeting much faster and more interactive. Nobody has to hide himself behind a laptop screen.

Target group:

The target group of this App are EDI-developer, EDI-consultants or intersted people. EDI is a perfect field of activity for those who are interested in IT and Economics.
Software:EDIfacts is based on an sqlite table with different views and tables.It is testet on iPhone 3(GS), iPhone4, ipod touch and iPad1, iPad2.
